REFERENCE: Westerbork (Dutch Westerbork) is a concentration camp created after the occupation of the Netherlands by Nazi Germany ten kilometers north of the city of Westerbork in the province of Drenthe, near the border with Germany. Westerbork became a transit camp, housing Dutch Jews and Roma sent to concentration camps in the east, mainly Auschwitz 2 and Sobibor.
