Provinzial-Actien Bank des Großherzogtums Posen

Provinz Posen (German: Provinz Posen) was a state-territorial entity within Prussia that existed from 1848 to 1920, created on the site of the Grand Duchy of Poznan.
In 1910, about 63% of the population were Poles, the rest were Germans and Jews. The largest cities along with the capital Posen were Bromberg, Schneidemühl, Gniezen and Inowrocław.
After World War I, the Poles demanded that the province be included in the recreated Polish state, but the Germans disagreed with this. On December 27, 1918, the Poles of the province raised the Greater Poland Uprising, after which until mid-1919 the province became an independent state with its own currency and army.
