Principality of Waldeck-Pyrmont
REFERENCE: Waldeck (1625-1805 and 1815-1918 Waldeck und Pyrmont) is a state entity (county, principality since 1712) in the territory of modern Germany, which existed since 1180 under the rule of the sovereign house Waldeck.
Since 1918, Waldeck is a state within the Weimar Republic. In 1929 it was annexed to the free state of Prussia. Today, the territories of the former principality are part of the federal states of Hesse and Lower Saxony.
