1. Issue description:

1.1. Issue: Dutch East Indies/Dutch East Indies. Issues of the Bank of Java (De Javasche Bank). Issue of banknotes 1946.

During the 1950 monetary reform in Indonesia, Bank of Java banknotes were cut into two halves. The left half of the banknotes were exchanged for new banknotes of Indonesia in the amount of half the face value. The right half of the banknotes was used to purchase 3% loan bonds, also in the amount of half the face value.
