REFERENCE: The Kingdom of Cambodia (Khmer. ព្រះរាជាណាចក្រកម្ពុជា, Preăh Réachéanachâkr Kâmpŭchea), for some time known as Kampuchea) is a state in Southeast Asia, in the south of the Indochina Peninsula, with the capital Phnom Penh. Area - 181 thousand km ². The population is over 13 million; over 80% are Khmer. Constitutional monarchy, the head of state is the king. The legislature is a bicameral parliament (National Assembly and Senate). In the east it borders with Vietnam, in the north - with Laos, in the northwest - with Thailand.
