REFERENCE: Confederate States of America banknotes. Third Series.
Issued by Act of August 19, 1861 Amended December 24, 1861 (supplement to the act). In the first issue, banknotes worth $100,000,000 were issued, in the second issue banknotes worth $50,000,000 were issued. Issue secured by 8% bonds, payment of banknotes six months after the conclusion of a peace treaty between the United States and the United States.
