Iranian Azerbaijan

REFERENCE: The Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan (Azerb. Azərbaycan Demokratik Firqəsi, also known as the Azerbaijan People's Government) is a state created with the participation of the USSR and existed for a short time (November 1945 - November 1946) in northern Iran. It occupied part of Iranian Azerbaijan, the capital is the city of Tabriz. Its creation and liquidation (together with another state created with the participation of the USSR - the Kurdish Mehabad Republic) was part of the Iranian crisis, which can be considered one of the harbingers of the Cold War.
