REFERENCE: Federated Malaya States (Malay: Federated Malaya States). Negeri-negeri Melayu Bersekutu, نڬري٢ ملايو برسكوت) is a federation of four states of the Malacca Peninsula (Negri-Sembilan, Pahang, Perak and Selangor) under the protectorate of Great Britain, which existed in 1896-1942. The Federation, together with other states and British possessions on the Malacca Peninsula in December 1941 - January 1942, was captured and occupied by Japanese troops. After the surrender of Japan, the federation was not restored.
