German Austria
REFERENCE: German Austria (German: Republik Deutschösterreich or Deutsch-Österreich) is a historical state in Europe, the successor of Austria-Hungary after its collapse after the First World War, which includes areas with a predominantly ethnically German population. With an area of 118,311 km ² and a population of 10.4 million people, it included the current regions of the Republic of Austria and other German-speaking areas, the former Austrian imperial lands (Cisleitania) as part of Austria-Hungary. Among them are the provinces of Bolzano-Bozen and the city of Tarvisio, now part of Italy, southern Carinthia and Lower Styria, now part of Slovenia, and the Sudetenland region, which belonged to the German Czech Republic (later also part of the Sudetenland region), now part of the Czech Republic.
