REFERENCE: Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha is an overseas territory of Great Britain, consisting of the islands of Saint Helena and Ascension, as well as the Tristan da Cunha archipelago, located in the South Atlantic west of the African coast. It was called Saint Helena and Dependencies until September 1, 2009, when a new constitution came into force, securing equal status for each island group.
