REFERENCE: Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, Czechoslovakia (Czech. Československá socialistická republika, abbr. ČSSR) - the official name of Czechoslovakia, adopted when changing the Constitution of the country on July 11, 1960, and valid until March 28, 1990, when it was changed to "Czechoslovak Federal Republic," and later to "Czech and Slovak Federal Republic." On January 1, 1993, this country broke up into two sovereign states - the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
