Confederate States of America
CSA
REFERENCE: The Confederate States of America (CSA, The Confederation) is a de facto independent state that existed from 1861 to 1865 in North America, part of the territory of modern USA. The Confederation of Southern States was formed as a result of the secession of 13 southern slave states from the United States of America. The Confederate States were an opponent of the United States during the American Civil War. Having been defeated in the war, the Confederate States ceased to exist; the states that made them up were captured by the United States armed forces and reintegrated into the United States during the long process of Reconstruction of the South.
