Malaya
REFERENCE: British Malaya is a generalized name for the collection of Straits Settlements, the Federated States of Malaya and the non-federated states (states) under the protection of Great Britain. In official documents, the name was not used, because the territories that made it up did not form a single whole. Before World War II, British Malaya was divided into the following administrative units:
 Straits Settlements; Federation of Malaya (Federated States of Malaya);
 four northern Malay states that were not included in the federation - Kedah, Perlis, Kelantan and Trenganu - and located in the south of Johora .
 After World War II, in 1946, the territories that made up British Malaya merged into the Malay Union.
