REFERENCE: Czech Republic (Czech. Česko), the official name of the Czech Republic (Czech. Česká republika) is a state in Central Europe. It borders with Poland (border length 658 km) in the north, Germany - in the northwest and west (border length 646 km), Austria - in the south (border length 362 km) and Slovakia - in the east (border length 214 km). The total length of the border is 1880 km. The capital of the Czech Republic is Prague. Modern Czech Republic was formed as a result of the collapse of Czechoslovakia (Velvet Divorce). Includes historical areas - Bohemia, Moravia and part of Silesia. Since March 12, 1999 it is a member of NATO, since May 1, 2004 it is a member of the European Union. Wiki
 

The state was formed on October 28, 1918 from the territories that were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
